Currently made available through the purchase of a Z-Score DLL from Dr. Robert Thatcher at Applied Neuroscience for use with either Brainmaster, NeXus/Biotrace, EEGer or Biograph Infiniti neurofeedback software systems. In this type of training the brainwave band characteristics are compared to the norms from Thatcher's database in real-time to give you z-scores (standard deviations from the norm) for absolute power, relative power, power ratios, phase, coherence and asymmetry (see qEEG Metrics Glossary for more information on these terms).

Charles Stark, MD has observed some consistent patterns of z-score changes during training (Neuroconnections, 2008). See our Z-Score Training Observations and Research to learn more and/or to contribute your own observations.
